Mit diesem Geld können wir ziemlich genau die Produktion des Albums abdecken! Und das ohne ein Label.
On the last Tour of Tours tour, the producer, Friedl Störmer, stumbled across the concept for the band’s first album due to a happy accident. With the original plan to make recordings of the rehearsals and one or two live performances, he quickly realized that there was much much more to record, and decided at the last minute to jump in the tour bus and accompany the group for the entire tour.
From the best recordings of concerts, rehearsals in hallways, hotel room sessions and drunken philosophizing on the tour bus, Friedl built a unique and seamless collage that makes the listener feel like a part of this wild journey. It is more than just a live album. This is truly “A Road Record".
The goal is to cover all production costs.
The Tour of Tours was born from the crazy idea of being able to go on tour together with friends while offering the audience something they could never witness in a single band. Of course, this was never financially profitable for anyone involved, but it was always clear to those who attended the shows that making money was never the intent of the project.
The entrance fees for the concerts barely paid for the tour expenses, so naturally there wasn’t a budget left over for producing an album. The band wants to share this tour with you and, in order to do that, they need the support of people like you who want to hear the energy and the love of the Tour of Tours on a full album for the first time!
Every euro you give goes into one of the different stages of the album’s production. Here is an overview of the costs:
- Recording and Mix by Friedl Störmer - Mastering by Kai Blankenberg - Artwork Illustration by Jörn Kaspuhl - Vinyl and CD Production - Organization and Promotion - Video work by Nikolai Meierjohann
The Tour of Tours is the most successful supergroup since "We are the World". 10 artists from 5 different bands, who have meanwhile played 3 tours in Germany, where together they have woven the songs of all the individual artists into one epic set. Hence the epic band name...
The idea of the Tour of Tours was born one night in Berlin when all the future members of the band stormed the stage during a Honig concert and turned the performance of one artist into a celebration of music and friendship.
