Achieving the first funding goal is an important signal to funders and sponsors that the international fan base fully supports UNESCON.
The UNESCON wants to establish a festival for ESC fans following the example of the Wacken Festival – a weekend with a comprehensive program, sightseeing tours, autograph sessions of well-known ESC artists, workshops and concerts for guests from all around the world.
Instead of glitz and glamour, the UNESCON wants to bring back live music to the fore and, thanks to a full-sized orchestra, gives the audience the unique opportunity to experience ESC music with all their senses. Combining musicians from Hanover with ESC artists is of highest importance. Their interaction creates a unique musical experience full of surprises, which also provides the opportunity to rediscover forgotten gems in ESC history.
The festival is aimed at ESC fans who still regard the Song Contest as a music show and who want to experience how different their favorite music sounds and feels when played by a full-sized orchestra. The wide range of events taking place at the festival should address all fan groups, whether they celebrate the ESC primarily as a big party, or appreciate the competition as a major cultural event.
The festival is also aimed at the "silent fans", those who follow the competition every year with big enthusiasm on TV without being a member of a fan club or travelling to see the live show, For these fans, UNESCON aims to bring the original ESC feeling to Hanover.
The UNESCON 2019 has already given an idea of how the power of live music boosts the audience as well as the artists on stage. If you want to re-live this unique music feeling, if you long for a real festival to overcome post-euro-visionary depression, in short, if you want to experience a whole city in ESC fever – then you should support UNESCON 2020!
The money will be used to finance UNESCON 2020, in particular artist fees and the social events. It will be used exclusively for the festival.
The people behind the project are "Dr Eurovision" Irving Benoît Wolther and a team of avid ESC fans and music lovers, who in their spare time are working very hard to give the guests an unforgettable weekend and to spread the reputation of Hannover as a UNESCO City of Music to the whole wide world.
