300 medical volunteers per year - seeing 48,000 patients. That is the work of our organisation at a glance. Those 48,000 people come from Afghanistan, Syria, Bangladesh, Algeria, Pakistan, Iraq and other countries and are on the move. Their future: uncertain. Their stations: the same. We are helping where our help is needed. We are Medical Volunteers International.

What is this project all about?

Our help.
The background of these 48,000 people, their skin color, gender, sexual orientation - none of it matters to us. What matters to us, however, is their state of health. as a human being. as a person on the move in precarious circumstances.

Our volunteer medics are so invested in our patients´ health that they spend a large part of their annual vacation in our projects. Because they cannot stand idly – like the EU stands idly and watches the circumstances under which these people have to live.

Our volunteers deserve attention and their work the highest respect.

Primary Health Care Lesbos, Athen, Thessaloniki and Bosnia
Mental Health Care for children & adolescents, for adults and
the Lesvos Outreach Project, that takes care of homeless people and other persons in need.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

We want to finance and expand our projects in the coming months and beyond, but we can't do that without your support. Whether you want to give something yourself, share this campaign or start your own fundraising appeal - every single action and support helps.

We thank each and every one of you for your support - no matter in which way - to be a helping hand for the refugees and to assist them with medical and psychological help.

Why would you support this project?

In the past year we doubled the number of our projects to six and thanks to the commitment and heart and soul of our teams, we are able to offer comprehensive medical and psychological help to refugees at a total of four locations. This has increased our expenses on the ground.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

Your support helps us to be able to continue to carry out our work and to secure medical care at our locations. Because we are conviced that: Healthcare is a human right.

Who are the people behind the project?

The non-profit association Medical Volunteers International e.V. is based in Hamburg. We are currently around 30 members, most of them former volunteers at the locations as well as people for whom the medical care of people - no matter where they come from - is important.
