What is this project all about?

“The Leipzig Adventures of Viktor and Noonoo” is a children’s book containing five short stories that will lead you all around Leipzig. The main characters are the four-year-old Viktor and the friendly roadsweeper Noonoo:

With the help of Viktor, Noonoo proves that he can do more than “just” clean the streets. He is also a coin collector, shoe expert, fruit picker, private detective and chauffeur. When the Queen of England comes to visit Leipzig Zoo, Noonoo even spares the city a great embarrassment.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

“The Leipzig Adventures of Viktor and Noonoo” is for children from the age of 4. Initially, the stories are meant for reading to the children. However, later on the kids will have fun reading the stories for themselves.

Bilingual: Your children might even use the book for English-practice as soon the language becomes part of the curriculum as the finished book will be in German and English.

Why would you support this project?

Together Viktor and Noonoo can overcome all obstacles. “We can make it! Together we are strong!” – that is the core message of the book. It is about friendship, creativity and courage. And that is exactly what should be communicated to children. Furthermore, the setting in Leipzig allows you to discover the different locations with your children.

Alongside the humorous stories, there are beautiful illustrations by Anja Tittel.

After using Crowdfunding successfully for his first children’s book “Gabriel and the cheeky monkeys”, author James Parsons would like to put Viktor and Noonoo’s stories in the hands of the crowd as well.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

The project would not be possible without everyone participating putting their heart and soul into it – mostly unpaid. This way, part of the project has already been financed. However, help is needed with financing the printing. We place a high value on working with regional partners.

What happens if more than 2000 € are achieved?

If the project is over-funded, we would like to give away free copies to kindergartens, schools, doctor's practices etc. as we did with “Gabriel and the cheeky monkeys”.

Who are the people behind the project?

Never change a winning team.

James Parsons was born in Southampton, England, and has been living in Leipzig since 1996. He founded the ICC Sprachinstitut in 1997. Being a father himself story-telling is part of his evening routine.

“I hope, Viktor and Noonoo will grow on you as much as Gabriel and his cheeky monkeys – whether it is in English or in German.”

Anja Tittel already illustrated the stories of “Gabriel and the cheeky monkeys” – there was no doubt: Of course she would do the illustrations for “The Leipzig Adventures of Viktor and Noonoo”. Anja Tittel is a self-employed graphic designer and illustrator from Dresden. Please feel free to have a look at her work and references: www.anjatittel.de

She is also involved in another crowdfunding project together with children’s book author Christina Oskui: „Der Igel, der seine Stacheln verloren hat“.
