We are Violet Fall, an electronic music duo based in Amsterdam (NL) and Köln (DE). Our first album "Seashore Fragments" has been released on Japanese label "Progressive Form" in november 2014 (http://www.progressiveform.com/). It has been a successful collaboration and helped us to release the cds on the Japanese market. With your help we now also want to publish the album on the European market and print it onto cds and vinyls.

What is this project all about?
Violet Fall is the new electronic music duo with Elisa Batti (Amsterdam) electronics, and Jenny Thiele (Cologne) voice and keyboard.
This new project blends the both ethereal and energetic voice of Jenny Thiele with the artificial sounds, grooves and beats of Elisa Batti. The playful vocal landscape of poetic phrases, sighs, breaths and exclamations, lends itself well to transformation and manipulation with the help of the electronics.
Violet Fall paints an emotional atmosphere with merging rhythms on a canvas of continuously evolving sounds. The electronic sounds, all hand crafted in a MAX MSP environment, are reminiscent of the japanese electronic scene. The complementary diversity of these two young women also creates a powerful live act!
What is the project goal and who is the project for?
The goal is to raise a minimum of 2700 € to press 500 cds (digipacks) and 200 vinyls as well as going for a promotional package (radio, magazines, online reviews). When this is paid we will invest into a video shoot for our first music video featuring our first single from the album, which will be "And here we are again, another sunrise". So the more we raise, the better for the professionality of the production.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
The first step will be the mastering and pressing of 200 vinyls as well as the manufacturing of 500 cds with our album "seashore fragments". The second step will be to invest into a promotional package, that contains radio, web and press promotion. After all of that is done we'll shoot our first music video for the single "And here we are again, another sunrise".
Who are the people behind the project?
ELISA BATTISTUTTA Short Biography:
Elisa Battistutta was born in Italy and currently lives in Amsterdam (NL) since 2007. Elisa Batti is an electronic musician who believes in the contamination of disciplines. To soften the coldness of electronic music she is always looking for interactions with other disciplines.
Such a peculiar approach to music can only come from a mixed background: Elisa is an environmental engineer, she holds a Post Doc degree at the Technical University of Delft (NL) and at the same time she studied Sonology at Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag (NL).
Her current activity is based on her musical career and also on her new platform, which is a promotion company for musicians and events. She is currently involved with the multidisciplinary and forward-thinking art collective Apes Container and the production house N/0 (No_Where_Out_Of_Reach) as the technical producer. She is also a member of the London based art gallery Kinetika.
In the past, Elisa Battistutta has worked as a music composer for the contemporary dance scene, supported by different institutions in the Netherlands (Dans Atelier and Random Collision). She has performed in many European theatres and festivals: Stoff Fringe Festival, Stockholm (SW); Alternative Milano Fashion Week, Spazio Moratti, Milano (IT); Notte Bianca, Firenze (IT); Fabbrica Europa, Firenze (IT); Open Dans Festival, Rotterdam (NL); Fascinate Festival, Falmouth (UK); PIM spazio scenico, Milano (IT); Vetrina Milano Oltre, Milano (IT); Teatro Elfo-Puccini, Milano (IT); Grand Theatre, Groningen (NL); Melkweg, Amsterdam, (NL); and Paradiso, Amsterdam, (NL), Kinetika Art Fair , London (UK).
JENNY THIELE Short Biography:
Jenny Thiele is a German singer and composer of popmusic, always up for exploration and experiments within her songs.
After a four year music study in the Netherlands, she now has her basis in Cologne, Germany, from where she works and travels with her musical projects.
In 2012 she released her first solo album called "Haus" assembling a motley crew of musicians like the string-quartet Badz or the Samba-Batucada Buyakano to produce her compositions.
Between 2007 and 2014 Jenny played in various original projects, like the singer/songwriter-duo Tom und Jenny or the Modern Samba collective Buyakano, and released nine albums since then.
In August 2013 Jenny was engaged by Den Jyske Opera for the Opera Production "The picture of Dorian Gray" in Aarhus, Denmark, singing the role of Sibyl Vane surrounded by classical singers, symphony orchestra and modern dancers.
A journey through Iceland in 2013 inspired her to launch her latest project Nunuk working together with her friend and musical partner Irene Novoa and currently touring living-rooms in Germany and The Netherlands.
By working with Elisa Batti in Violet Fall Jenny has found her passion for minimal music, exploring sounds of the voice, suggestive use of words, as well as electronical soundscapes.
