It's time for underwear that does something good for your body instead of pinching and rubbing the entire day. wild woman underwear makes sustainable underwear for women that not only looks great, but also feels great. With our underwear, we want you to be truly comfortable in your own skin, and since our production is ethically made in Portugal, you can be confident that everybody has been treated fairly in the process.

What is this project all about?

wild woman underwear puts your wellbeing and comfort first

Far too often we choose looks over comfort when we pick our underwear and end up with “sexy” lace undies. Indeed, a lot of underwear producers focus on how underwear looks and less on how it feels. The result are seams that run along your vulva or skimpy designs that barely cover your intimate parts.

wild woman underwear looks at underwear with a fresh eye. We create underwear that puts your wellbeing and comfort first. We design underwear that’s comfortable and beautiful without pinching, rubbing or itching. The underwear fits the way it’s supposed to and makes you feel comfortable all day long.

For an extra dose of comfort and vulva love, we extended the lining (the double layered part of the underwear around your vulva). The lining is made from a material blend of Tencel lyocell and smartcel. Both fabrics are derived from wood, with smartcel in particular containing zinc, which has antibacterial and odour reducing properties. Clinical studies of underwear confirm that smartcel is particularly soft to the skin - the perfect fabric for the sensitive skin of the vulva!

Bye bye itchy and irritated skin, hello comfortable underwear dream!

We want you to feel truly comfortable in your own skin

Body acceptance and self-love have become relevant for most underwear brands by now. At the same time, the imagery remains the same: a skinny woman being lascivious and playful while wearing lace lingerie. But there is so much more to show about the day-by-day life of a woman: cellulite, body hair, stretch marks, breasts of all shapes, scars and so on.

With wild woman underwear we want to show as much diversity as possible and to give you the certainty that your body isn’t strange or not enough, but perfectly normal. We are dreaming of a society in which women accept themselves and their bodies, and maybe even love themselves.

It’s about time that we encourage everyone to feel comfortable in their own skin, not just skinny women in sexy lace underwear.

Underwear from sustainable fabrics made ethically in Portugal

The first collection of wild woman underwear will be made from Tencel lyocell: a fabric that combines the great properties of organic cotton with the smoothness of silk. We love Tencel lyocell and think it’s perfect for underwear:

  • Soft to the touch
  • Breathable
  • Contains bacteria growth

It’s made from renewable wood in an environmentally friendly way. The wood comes from certified, sustainably forested woods and is spun to yarn in Austria. The production process is a closed loop system that requires only one solvent of which 99,9% can be recovered.

For the lining we use a special blend of Tencel lyocell and smartcel. smartcel is also derived from wood and is produced in the same environmentally friendly way. smartcel contains zinc, which has antibacterial and odour reducing properties.

All our fabrics are from Europe. Our supplier of the Tencel lyocell is from Portugal. We get the straps of the bralette and the other elastics from a German supplier. The lace is from an Italian producer and it’s made from partially recycled polyamide and elastane and is certified (OekoTex STeP, GRS).

The first collection is made in a small, female-run factory in Portugal. We visited the factory and assured ourselves of the quality of their work and the working conditions. The factory has done an outstanding job in creating our prototypes and we’re thrilled to be working with them for the first production run.

All seamstresses have employment contracts, 22 days of holidays a year, regular working hours and are paid at least the legal minimum wage in Portugal (plus additional monthly benefits). The production floor has sufficient daylight and space for every seamstress.

Which sizes do we carry?

We offer the first collection in five different sizes. If we meet the second funding level of 20,000€, we will add two more sizes. Our goal is to expand our size range step by step to offer our beautiful and comfortable underwear to those with “atypical” body shapes (sending love out to fellow sufferers with small chests and big breasts).

These are our sizes:

  • Kiwi (fits like S/36 or 75 A/B)
  • Coconut (fits like M/38 or 80 A/B)
  • Mango (fits like L/40 or 85 A/B)
  • Melon (fits like XL/42 or 90 A/B)
  • Peach (fits like XXL/44 or 95 A/B)

Please measure yourself and check our size table to figure out which cheeky fruit you are.

Once we hit a funding level of 20,000€, we can offer two additional sizes:

  • Avocado (fits like XS/34 or 70 A/B)
  • Lemon (fits like XXXL/46 or 100 A/B)

You’ll likely hold your underwear in your hands within 5-6 months after the campaign ends (before March 2023).

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

Our goal is that you feel wild and free. Free from any expectation of how you’re meant to be or look like.

We care too much and too often about how our underwear might be perceived by others. We want it to be seductive and hopefully not too uncomfortable. But you don’t have to wear skimpy lace panties to be sexy and desirable.

wild woman underwear is for you if:

  • you put your wellbeing and comfort first
  • you question existing beauty standards
  • you crave for more diversity
  • you appreciate sustainable fabrics and ethical production

Why would you support this project?

If you are looking for comfortable and beautiful underwear that hugs your body and does something good to your body, support wild woman underwear.

But we’re so much more than “just” underwear. We are fighting for a society in which women can feel wild and free and accept themselves the way they are. Are you in? With your support, we can make the vision of wild woman underwear become reality.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

If the campaign is successful, we can produce the first collection.

  • With the first funding level of 15,000€ we can produce all styles (Bralette, Brazilian Slip, Bikini Slip and Norwegian Shorts) in Black and the Bralette and Brazilian Slip with lace.
  • If we reach the second funding level of 20,000€, we can add two sizes for each style (Avocado and Lemon).
  • If we reach more than this, we can offer all styles in pine green. As the minimum order quantities for the straps of the bralette are pretty high, we need to have the support of many wild women who would be as excited as us about the additional colour.

We will be donating a part of our profit to organisations that fight for equal opportunities and rights of young girls and women. This way we aim to encourage more girls and women to feel wild and free.

Who are the people behind the project?

I am Regina, the founder of wild woman underwear. With time, I grew frustrated with bad underwear. I was especially sick of how women are being hypersexualised and reduced to their looks.

That’s why I founded an underwear brand that makes women feel truly comfortable in their own skin. I designed the underwear myself and created prototypes with a small factory in Portugal.

I call Berlin home and love the city’s craziness and diversity. But I’ve also lived and worked in 10 different countries so far and really enjoy learning about other cultures

Before I created this business, I was a management consultant for five years. At some point, the thought of creating beautiful and comfortable underwear kept coming back and wouldn’t let go. So I decided to give it a shot during my parental leave. After just over a year I’m finally ready to share the result with you and am super excited for your support!

The biggest thank you goes to everyone who has worked with me on wild woman underwear so far:

  • Christina, Patricia & Fernanda - for the amazing prototypes
  • Abbie, Azura, Chrissi, Charlotte, Chelsea, Deborah, Divine, Frances, Freia, Gabby, Magali, Ricarda und Sofia - the most beautiful and natural models
  • Julia - for the perfect photos
  • Ben & Gio - for the great video
  • Lisa - for the natural look
  • Natalie - for your pretty voice
  • Michelle - for reading all the words
  • Cristian & Teodor - for everything else!

This crowdfunding campaign is run in the name and on the account of wild woman GmbH.

Why does this project contribute to this goal?

Our underwear is made ethically and with love in a female-run factory in Portugal. We use sustainable fabrics (Tencel lyocell & recycled lace) and aim to substitute the synthetic parts of the fabric with biologically degradable alternatives in the coming years. We will produce mostly through pre-orders to avoid textile waste. We will donate a part of our profit to female-run initiatives and organisations.

This project also pays toward those goals
