Die Spenden werden für die Finanzierung und damit für die Realisierung des Dokumentarfilms verwendet, der auf das Thema der Gleichberechtigung der Geschlechter
Our project focuses on the East African pro-women‘s country Rwanda, in which the
parliament consists of about 62% women. In Germany it’s only 35%. The main
character Sarah Uwase, a 24-year-old woman meets inspiring girls and women, who
encourage her to feel strong as a woman. The short documentary focuses on what
we can learn from Rwandan women. Furthermore the project portrays the East
African country Rwanda, which is a rising star in terms of promoting gender equality.
Our vision is to reach everyone all over the world regardless of their gender. We want
to draw international attention to a very important topic like gender equality and
women empowerment. Through the documentary we want to give the western
society new perspectives on an East African nation and thereby start an intercultural
exchange. The goal of the documentary is to represent moments of Rwandan
women showing who they are, what they stand for and what they are capable of.
We not only have to finance our equipment but given that our documentary will be
filmed in Rwanda, we also have to pay for transportation, food and accomodation in
order to make this inspiring project happen. Only with your donation we are able to
draw attention to socially relevant topics such as gender equality. In conjunction with
your donation, the project can gain reach to let people understand how young
Rwandan women create their own business independently!
Your support helps us to realize the documentary and to tell interesting and
important stories from Rwanda. We also want to take part in film festivals to reach more people. Through a successful financing we want to cover the costs which we had to pay in advance in order to get our project started. If we reach our goal, we can finance the necessary equipment, transportation costs, and accommodation. If we can cover all our costs through the crowdfunding, every additional € will go to our protagonist Sarah and her crochet business “Wase”.
We are the film collective "Tripolar" consisting of two “Motion Pictures” and one “Sound and Music Production” graduate from Darmstadt, Germany, who came together to follow their passion: Documentary. The three young German filmmakers are specialised in directing, camera and sound. Sophie, the directress of the documentary, has already lived a year in Rwanda 5 years ago and her dream to one day shoot a documentary there now has turned into reality.
