Dann könnte ich alle entstandenen Produktionskosten der EP decken & sie veröffentlichen. Ihr würdet mir ermöglichen mehr Menschen mit meiner Musik zu erreichen.
This crowdfunding Project is about my new EP, 'Home One Day'.
The songs on this EP are some of the most personal songs I have written. The central theme is hope. I feel
like we are all constantly wrestling with our demons, but there is this knowledge that something better is just
beyond the horizon. That is the hope we need to keep going.
Growing up in London, surrounded by a variety of music, I started writing and performing songs at a young age. Eventually, I plucked up the courage to perform at a London Open-mic night and I haven't stopped perfoming since.
'Home One Day' is my first release since moving to Hannover, where I met Helge Preuß, who produced the songs on this EP. Having written and performed my songs entirely alone for years it was a big step to expand the team and start working with Helge but it has definitely been rewarding. Most of the EP was recorded at Toolhouse Studio in Germany with my band, with whom I've since toured extensively throughout Germany.
It has been a while since I put out any new music and i think now feels like the right time. The title of the EP is 'Home One Day' - its a line from one of the songs and describes exactly how I feel at the moment and I've realised that I'm not the only one who feels this way. Over the last few years I have struggles with things like anxiety and depression and writing music has helped me to process that. What started out as a way to heal a broken heart, very quickly turned into a passion. I have learned that every bad experience is an opportunity to tell a story and connect with people and there is no better way to connect with people than through music. I aim to encourage people to own their sotries and take the good with the bad.
Concretely I hope that this project will help to spread awareness about the importance of opening up about mental health and comfort people who are going through difficult times.
Crowdfunding seemed like a good choice for me and my msuic because until now I have been an independent artist and its the support of you all that has allowed me to keep going. It seems only right to include you in the completion and hopefully the success of this EP. I want you to be a part of the story.
I am honestly so grateful for all your support and encouragement! I hope through my music people will feel encouraged too.
My aim is to spread hope, and I think this is something we all need a little more of right now.
To finish the preocess and to be able to release the EP I have to raise enough money to be able to pay all the wonderful people who have been involved so far - this includes my producer, my band and the mastering engineer.
If I reach my first target of 10,000€ I will be able to pay everyone and cover all of my studio costs. If I were to reach my second target of 16,000€ I will have enough to create an additional music video and invest in the promotion of the EP.
While I am a solo artist, there have been many other people involved in the production of this EP. Firstly, my producer Helge Preuß, who has been integral in finding the sound for this record. We spent a long time together in his home studio creating the demos before recording the final takes at Toolhouse Studios.
My band (Jan Jakob, Emanuel Nicolas and Jake Stentiford) have also been a huge part of this process. They spent hours rehearsing and recording and I'm so grateful for all of their creative input!
