With 1800 Euros we can pay basic fees of our short film. We would be able to rent the necessary equipment and cover basic needs on set.
You make our dream of shooting this film possible!
Duration: 12min.
Era: 1905, Belle Époque
Location: Paris
The Dutch woman Margaretha Geertruida Zelle was an incredibly courageous woman, who neglected all social constraints of her time. After having lost nearly everything in her life she dared to do the impossible, reinvented and named herself "Mata Hari, the Indian princess".
She became the shooting star of the Belle Époque in Paris and as the first woman of the 20th century she charged 10 000 Francs per performance* - and this was at a time when women weren't allowed to have their own bank account.
Our film talks about her transformation from a European to an Indian princess right before her first big public performance. At one point her past catches up, she is overcome by doubt, and she has to make a life-changing decision ...
We want to be inspired by the courage of this woman. Let us make this film possible!
